Happy Halloween!!! I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday! Mine was exhausting, but I think everyone had a great time.
Over the weekend, Jason and I were asked to come to the elementary school connected to the university and do a small lesson on Halloween. We had to scramble to get things together and to come up with ideas for what the students (who were about six or seven) could do. In the end, we had them do construction paper jack-o'-lanterns and trick-or-treating for candy. It was chaotic trying to tell them what to do, but needing translators and for about 40 students to be running around hyped up about having three foreigners trying to do cool activities with them. It was hectic and crazy from the moment we walked in the door, but it was so much fun to work with the kids. Jason dressed up as Batman, which all of the boys really liked. Makenzi went with us and she was Captain Fun Bubble, who wears purple and has a bubble gun. I went as a bunny fairy, so I had pink leggings, wings, a bunny wand, a rabbit stuffy sidekick, and bunny ears. I think us three walked out of there very grateful we only have to work with college kids, who can control themselves better. But, it was still a lot of fun.

Not only were we in charge of the children's activities, but Jason and I headed the Halloween party for the foreign language college. We had four days to organize everything, which included trying to find rooms for the college kids to trick-or-treat, getting candy, and figuring out a costume contest. Long story short: we managed everything and it was all good. The costume contest was fun and a girl who was a "woman in black" won the contest.
After the festivities, us Americans and some of our friends went to a coffee shop here on campus and just hung out and relaxed. We did not stay too long, since we all have classes tomorrow and with all the excitement, we were all tired. In all, I think it went over well and the students had fun running around the college getting some candy.
Makenzi and I also carved pumpkins. Mine is on the left.
