After still having stomach troubles, I woke up at seven this morning. I thought about cleaning, but then decided to read instead. After a while I went out on a quick bike ride before getting lunch with Matt and Jeremy. We went to a shop here on campus and got these amazing crepe-like things called jiānbǐng (煎饼). They had cilantro, green onion, a crunchy cracker thing, a peanut sauce, pork, and another meat in it. It was very good.
After that we all rested before the meeting where we got our schedules and another tour of the building. My schedule is this:
Monday:
8-9:50: WRITING FOR JUNIORS!!! <-- Help!
10:10-12: WRITING for juniors <-- AGAIN!
Tuesday:
10:10-12: Speaking 3 (Sophomores) <-- not too bad
Wednesday:
OFF!!!
Thursday:
8-9:50: Speaking 3
Friday:
8-9:50: Speaking 3
10:10-12: Speaking 3
So, as it turns out, the university thinks I can write and speak good English. This should be a fun, yet challenging semester. Luckily I get a break in the middle of the week and am done by noon for the other four days. That means I get my siesta!
I have to turn in my syllabi soon, so tonight will be a light dinner and syllabi writing.
The weather today was rough. It was both hot and humid the entire day. I went out for 20 minutes on the bike and came back dripping with sweat. Then it rained during the meeting, which one would think would cool things down, which it did, but shot the humidity up to 150%. I am just grateful my apartment has air conditioning.
